Pad Krapow Gai (Thai Basil Chicken) ผัดกระเพราไก่

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground chicken

  • ~10 green beans (I used french string beans)

  • 2 shallots

  • 1 egg

  • 1 cup thai basil

  • 5 thai chili peppers (bird's eye chili)

  • 5 garlic cloves

  • 1/2 cup chicken broth

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (for sauce)

  • 1 tbsp fish sauce (for sauce)

  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (for sauce)

  • 1 tsp sugar (for sauce)

  • 1 cup cooked rice

Instructions:

  1. Prepare ingredients - cut green beans into 1-inch pieces, cut shallots into strips, slice thai chili peppers, slice garlic cloves

  2. Cook - in an oiled pan or wok, stir-fry garlic and chopped chilis until fragrant, add ground chicken until mostly cooked, add green beans, then add all sauce ingredients

  3. Add broth - add in chicken broth, and cook off liquid

  4. Add basil - turn off heat then add basil until just wilted

  5. Serve it up - top with fried egg and eat with rice

  6. Enjoy!
